Closing a Cycle
My Personal Learning Intentions & Pathway Design
Output 2 – submitted March 16, 2011
Output Specification
I write for anyone who wants to listen and ask that everyone read with patience and an open mind. To let go of what you may not know and have faith that you’ll find out. To those unfamiliar with the lingo, this output may contain a dialect you don’t understand. To those familiar, you too may find yourself needing a bit of clarification. To everyone’s benefit, myself included, I have provided a dictionary, a common reference point. However, the Glossary does not appear until the conclusion of Bienvenido, the introduction and I ask that you please wait.
The purpose of this output is to answer the following questions; What will I be learning? Why do I want to learn them? How I will be learning them? When? Where? And with whom?
My response to the above inquiries are intermingled. I see each question as equally important, and yet each response connected to the larger framework of my life. Therefore, a holistic education is all inclusive, omnipresent.
To satisfy the requirements of Gaia University, I have included all of the necessary output elements. The Learning Matrix appears as three distinct VUE maps, all of which are located in the section titled Second Year. The Skillflex Assessment, also presented as a VUE map is located within A Living Chapter. It is the only image given in that section and brainstorms the skills needed to complete each of the mentioned projects. Upward Spiral is the last section of this output, its where you will find all other bits and pieces such as the Process Reflection, Evaluations and a list of resources used in the creation of this output packet.
Closing a Cycle is meant to be read in chronological order. Yet it too is structured in a way that each section can stand by itself. In your first encounter it is optimal to read from top to bottom, beginning to end. When encountering any maps

Output 1B: Learning Contract
Submitted July 5, 2010MY UNDERSTANDING
Here you will find my Learning Contract, an output requirement of Gaia University. It is intended to answer the questions; What will I be learning? Why do I want to learn them? How will I be learning them? When? Where? And with whom?
As a way of documenting my intentions for the coming three months I first feel the need to give context. My Understanding is a way of looking. Zooming in and out, I attempt to maneuver from a distance to details. Pathways dim the lights and set the mood, taking a pause to look around and gain an understanding of how it all fits together. Then to draw back the curtain and revel the stage, Patterns is a way of understanding where I’m departing from. Its a glimpse of the time and place where this is all playing out. Feeling inspired by the thought of being a “workshop junkie”, Integrate uses what I learned from class. It is an adaption and a way of furthering my education though implementing and action-learning. Eco-Social Design gets into the details and focuses on what I will be doing July, August and September. I conclude by realizing that this is the just the beginning of the Upward Spiral.

Career Review: Pieces of a Whole
Submitted on: February 27, 2010PIECES OF A WHOLE
This output first began with Pieces, an exploration of 3 pathways. The original pathway, the Action-path, which itself is composed of three pathways, then inspired two more pathways or pieces. Busying getting lost in this holograph, it has ended up looking quite chaotic and therefore earned its title. Curriculum Vitae which is meant to be a more professional approach to documenting, was created as an Excel Spreadsheet but is posted and published as a Google document. The Missing Link is a plethora of loose ends; a youtube video, journal entries, assignments from my days in the public education system, Curriculum Vitae and much more. In an attempt to “wrap it up” and add an element of cohesion, I’ve created the introduction, As a Whole. Although not as gradual as one might like, it’s a true and honest evaluation of the process I’ve endured creating this Career Review. Learn and Unlearn was originally written in the introduction, but now stands on its own.
